Livigno is located 1800 metres above sea level although the highest point is 3000 metres. It is on the border of Switzerland and Italy. It's a tax free resort so very cheap to eat and drink and fill up with diesel although they don't sell lpg. The ski runs are made up of mainly reds although there is the odd decent black run and quite a few long wide blues. It is suitable for all types of skiers and especially good for families. The campsite is a 5 minute walk from the nearest slope or there are free buses that can take you anywhere in the resort. We have stayed at the campsite for the last 4 years and we have full timing friends who work in Livigno for the winter season. The cost per night is between 15 and 20 euro's although they do do discount for longer stays. The facilities are the best I have found in any ski resort and are located in the middle of the campsite underground. They were fully refurbished in 2006.
